Richard "Blue" Morris is a graduate student in Renee Thompson's DYNAMIC Lab. His research focuses on characterizing the structure of human affect and how affect dynamically changes in response to internal (e.g., emotion regulation) processes in both healthy and clinical populations. He is particularly interested in meta-emotion, which is how one feels about their own emotions. He is also interested in conceptualizing affect structure geometrically in order to investigate non-linear patterns in emotion and emotion regulation at the level of the individual (i.e., an idiographic approach). Before coming to Washington University in St. Louis, Blue earned his B.A. In Psychology and Hispanic Studies from Columbia University and his M.S. In Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Padova in Italy.
