Hi, I'm Kayla Hensley! I am in the Aging and Development area under Dr. Mitch Sommers in the Speech and Hearing Lab. My past work investigated how lexical factors influenced reading and spelling acquisition with Dr. Rebecca Treiman. My current work explores how children learn to perceive, comprehend, and produce the ends of words and what cognitive factors are implicated in this process. Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading and talking about books with my multiple book clubs, getting slowly better at running, and spending time with my cat.
